Sarah Beard, LCSW
Sarah Beard, LCSW is the Director of Children’s Services for BHcare and the operational leader for the children’s IOP services. Sarah has been with the organization for 14 years. She has worked with children and families during that time providing clinical treatment and overseeing clinical services for children birth to age 18.
Sarah is trained in a variety of evidence-based practice such as Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Attachment Emotional Regulation and Competency (ARC), the Positive Parenting Program (Triple P), Circle of Security, Adolescent Community Reinforcement Approach (A-CRA) and Motivational Enhancement Treatment with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (MET-CBT).
Sarah takes a developmental approach when working with children who have mental health challenges so they can achieve their appropriate milestones. The emphasis is not only on the child but the family as a whole to promote healthy lifestyles.
Prior to her career at BHcare Sarah counseled children and adolescents in the juvenile justice system and spent five years working as a clinician at a domestic violence crisis center. Sarah has a bachelor’s in Social Work from Messiah College in conjunction with Temple University and a master’s of Social Work from Fordham University.
